It's good. Maybe less sweet than others, though it's plenty sweet. With the current batch, I soak them in water till soft. I'd prefer they we're on the moister-side of moisture content (but not hydrated, just naturally occurring if practical/possible for storage). Prime quality Deglet Dates are my favorite(can be both firm and softer in prime grades), but getting them prime grown / prime grade is the challenge, - their prime grown/grade quality is rare, - i.e. most aren't 'prime' at least with what's grown in California.
